Agricultural machinery
The electrification of agricultural machinery brings numerous advantages, including reduced maintenance, enhanced reliability, instant power availability, and the benefits of zero-emission, low-noise operation. REO components ensure efficient, trouble-free performance in these applications, providing excellent protection against dust, dirt, moisture, and adverse weather. With durable materials, protective coatings, and full potting technology, we offer customized solutions for a wide range of protection classes. Whether powering electric tractors or exploring hydrogen-powered alternatives, REO components such as our water-cooled braking resistors ensure optimal performance.


Urban mobility
From electric buses to e-scooters, golf carts, and even e-race cars or air taxis, REO components are integral to modern urban mobility solutions. For instance, reactors and EMC filters maintain the smooth operation of electric buses and trains, while braking resistors in golf carts reliably monitor battery performance. Our robust resistors, capable of withstanding external factors (up to IP 69K), are used in electric buses as braking resistors, heaters, or as combined units.
Heavy machinery and commercial vehicles
When electrifying heavy machinery like excavators, mining trucks, and wheel loaders, the components must meet demanding performance and protection requirements due to harsh operating conditions. REO components are designed to perform reliably under intense external influences, including salty air, dust, sand, and mud. With protection class ratings up to IP66, REO components are fully encapsulated to ensure durability and low-maintenance operation.

Liquid Cooling – Maximizing Performance in High Ambient Temperatures
While air cooling often has limitations, particularly for compact components, REO offers a range of inductive and resistive components equipped with advanced water cooling systems.
This ensures optimal temperature control, enhancing performance and extending component lifespan.
Advantages of water cooling compared to air cooling:
- High efficiency and low noise level
- Compact design
- Effective cooling in high ambient temperatures
- Very low housing temperature
- Extended service life under normal operating conditions
- Consistently high performance with efficient heat dissipation
- Water-cooled systems are especially beneficial for industrial applications requiring low surface temperatures, such as wood and textile processing or ATEX areas

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of inductive components, REO specialized early on in the challenge of EMC problems in frequency converter-controlled drive systems. In cooperation with manufacturers of drive systems and mechanical engineering companies, we have innovatively advanced this development over the last four decades. Our EMC solutions are specially tailored to these drive systems. Thanks to our comprehensive vertical integration and expertise in filtering such systems, which is bundled in our own development center, we can offer our customers the best possible EMC solutions. In addition to EMC tests and tests under extreme environmental conditions, we also carry out shock and vibration tests in our own laboratory.
