Promoting Young Talent through the Germany Scholarship Program

On November 19, 2025, the time had come once again: during a festive ceremony at the University of Wuppertal, this year’s Germany Scholarships were awarded. A total of 81 sponsors from the region are supporting students this year who stand out not only for their excellent academic achievements but also for their social commitment, social responsibility or special personal accomplishments. The University of Wuppertal has been successfully involved in the Germany Scholarship program for 15 years, and REO AG has been one of its active sponsors for eight years now – driven by the goal of supporting tomorrow’s skilled professionals and leaders and thereby strengthening the regional economy in the long term. For the third year in a row, REO is supporting Mr. Marius Benedikt Breuer, who, after successfully completing his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, is now pursuing his master’s studies with great dedication. We warmly congratulate Mr. Breuer and look forward to continuing to accompanying him on his path in the coming year. Photo: ©Paco_Calderon
REO AG celebrates its 100th anniversary – innovation based on tradition since 1925

This year, REO AG marks a century of success. What began in 1925 with the motto “Reklame Erster Ordnung” (First-class advertising) and a small factory producing lighting solutions for cinemas and advertising media has grown to an internationally operating company with locations in Europe, the USA and Asia. “We are proud of what we have achieved over the past 100 years and grateful to the people who have accompanied us on this journey. As a family-owned business, we bear a special responsibility to our employees, customers, and locations in the international competition. At the same time, we see the coming decades as an opportunity to drive forward new technologies and make our contribution to the energy transition and a sustainable industry, ” says Philip Twellsieck, Chairman of the Executive Board. Over the decades, REO has evolved into a leading manufacturer of inductive, resistive and electronic components and system solutions. By the 1950s, the company was supplying its first major industrial customers, and from the 1970s onwards, international subsidiaries were established. Today, its core competencies include innovative products developed and manufactured in Germany to the highest quality standards for railway technology, medical and drive technology, industrial automation and e-mobility. As a family-owned company now in its fourth generation, REO combines tradition with a forward-looking approach: quality, innovation, and sustainability continue to shape its philosophy. Anniversary celebration in Berlin The 100th anniversary was celebrated with a ceremony at the Estrel Hotel in Berlin. In addition to employees from Germany, numerous colleagues from the company’s international branches attended the celebration. It was a unique opportunity for a “family reunion”. A gala dinner, the ‘Stars in Concert’ show and other surprises provided an exceptional experience that highlighted the team spirit and unity within the company. Looking to the future Even after 100 years, REO AG remains focused on the future: With investments in research and development, sustainable production processes, and cutting-edge digital solutions, the company aims to continue setting new standards. The focus is on energy-efficient products, groundbreaking system solutions and close partnerships with customers worldwide. REO supports Sucht- und Jugendhilfe e.V.

As a responsible company, the protection and support of young people is especially close to our hearts. That´s why we have been involved in various projects to promote young talent for many years. This year, we are supporting Sucht- und Jugendhilfe e.V., a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about addiction and its dangers. The association aims to encourage young people to inform themselves about addiction early on and to actively support schools in their prevention efforts. Today, addiction affects far more than just illegal substances – synthetic drugs, media addiction, eating disorders, as well as the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and painkillers are now among the challenges facing young people and those around them. Our support enables us to provide the Höhscheid comprehensive school in Solingen with free educational brochures every month. These guides are specifically aimed at parents, teachers and trainers to support them in the important task of education and prevention. We are delighted to be able to contribute to raising early awareness and actively protecting young people from the dangers of addiction.
REO supports the Green Lion Racing Team at the University of Wuppertal

REO AG is a sponsor of the Green Lion Racing Team at the University of Wuppertal. The interdisciplinary student team is developing its first fully electric racing car to paticipate in the international Formula Student competition. The aim of Formula Student is to design a vehicle in accordance with the official regulations, from concept development and manufacturing to participation on the race track. The entire process is governed by strict rules. With their prototypes, the students compete against each other in three static and five dynamic disciplines at international events. This initiative not only promotes the development of sustainable technologies, but also offers students a valuable platform to expand their skills in engineering and automotive technology. We are proud to contribute through our sponsorship and wish the team great success in the upcoming races! Railway Transformer NTT 400 D

Onboard power supply transformer (Roof mounted) Description The REO transformer NTT 400 D is designed for onboard power supplies, which are fed by the auxiliary converter. The transformer NTT 400 D is the complete, ready to use-unit with transformer, mounting frame and housing. The transformer is used to adapt the voltage and for galvanic isolation of the pulse-width modulated DC link voltage and the consumers of the vehicle electrical system. An appropriate sinusoidal filter must be connected between the transformer and the inverter. The secondary-side load of the isolating transformer can be switching devices, rotating machines, resistive loads and semiconductor converter devices. The transformers are designed for the use of vehicles in the AC or DC grid (in inverter mode) in containers. This guarantees that transformers from REO are optimally designed for your application. Maximum service life, cost/benefit optimization and safety are the focal points of our development work. Customer-specific components On-board power transformers can be customized. Are you interested in this product? Please contact us! In addition to standardized components for use in converters, REO offers customer-specific products – as individual components or as a complete solution in a container. The benchmark in railroad technology is the availability and safety of passengers. Here, REO offers special solutions that are developed step by step in close cooperation with the customer.
