Transformers
Transformers from REO
The amount of energy consumed is significantly reduced by using an REO toroidal transformer. In a comparison between a traditional transformer and a toroidal transformer, the losses can be reduced by up to 40%.
REO toroidal transformers possess a low magnetic stray field and very low intrinsic losses. They can achieve a reduction in weight of up to 50% as a result of their special construction.
Depending on the customer’s requirements, the toroidal transformers are available non-cast, with centre hole casting or with full casting. Thanks to the use of UL-listed materials and various DIN-compliant mounting connections, they fulfil the highest quality requirements.
A variable transformer is used if it is essential that output voltages are adjusted with a constant sinusoidal wave form.
The REO variable transformers create no interference or harmonics and are therefore particularly suited for use in test facilities or research institutes, where high-frequency interference could falsify the results.
The IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards define the safety of medical electrical devices and systems. Knowledge and a great deal of experience are required to implement these standards to ensure a safe power supply.
REO isolating transformers for medical technology fulfil these guidelines and are characterised by the following features:
- Low stray field – which ensures high EMC compatibility
- High-quality belt quality – for high efficiency and excellent performance
- Fully encapsulated – as protection against mechanical influences and for better heat dissipation
REO leakage transformers filter harmonics and therefore ensure a limiting of the ripple current.
Due to the spatial separation of the primary and secondary windings and the targeted enlargement of the magnetic stray field that is linked to it, a loose magnetic coupling is achieved with the REO leakage transformer. In this way, the function of a transformer (voltage transformation and galvanic separation) and a sinusoidal filter choke are combined.
Particularly in the railway sector when the highest possible level of comfort and safety for the passengers is important, space-saving, safe and long-lived components are essential.
REO power supplies are free from electromagnetic interference and comply with the valid EC Guidelines (EN 61558-2-14 and the older VDE Standard 0552).
REO provides DC and AC power supplies, high-voltage power feeders and three-phase supply units that are designed for voltages up to 15 kV and currents up to 30 KA.

Isolating transformers for medical technology
The isolating transformers offer maximum safety and reliability, which are essential for use in medical devices and systems. They fulfil the IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards.

Toroidal transformers
Improved power quality and efficient energy and cost reduction thanks to low volume and weight as well as low intrinsic losses

Variable transformers
For adjusting output voltages with a constant sinusoidal shape. Particularly suitable for use in test fields or research institutes where high-frequency interference can distort results.

POWER SUPPLIES
REOLINE power supplies are free from electromagnetic interference and comply with the applicable EC directives
(EN 61558-2-14 or the older VDE standard 0552).

Leakage Transformer
Limitation of the ripple current by filtering the harmonics. The spatial separation of the primary and secondary windings and the associated increase in the magnetic leakage flux results in a loose magnetic coupling. This combines the function of a transformer and a sinusoidal filter choke.
