Particularly in medical technology, where the highest level of safety is a top priority, all products must undergo stringent testing.
The IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards define the safety of medical electrical equipment. Knowledge and a great deal of experience are required to implement these standards to ensure a safe power supply. All transformers are subjected to stringent tests in REO’s in-house test centre in Pfarrkirchen to ensure compliance with the relevant standards. In addition to the manufacture of standard products, REO has a large vertical range of manufacture. This makes it easy to realise customer-specific requirements, such as special housings or mounting plates for transformers. REOMED

Isolating transformers for medical technology Ed. 3.2

REO has successfully completed certification in accordance with IEC 60601-1 (Edition 3.2) for its REOMED isolating transformers. This certification has been mandatory since October 2024 and underlines the quality and reliability of the REOMED series, which was specially developed for medical technology. The isolating transformers offer the highest levels of safety and reliability, which are essential for use in medical devices and systems. These transformers are used in a wide range of medical applications worldwide, from hospital equipment to complex medical imaging systems. The REOMED transformers are characterised by their excellent insulation capability and low electromagnetic interference, which ensures safe and reliable operation. One example of the products in this series is the REOMED 2200, which is unique with its rated output power of 2200 VA.
In addition, this isolating transformer offers improved voltage stability and optimised heat dissipation, resulting in an extended service life and increased operational safety. With the successful testing of the 3.2 Edition, REOMED isolating transformers are optimally prepared for and meet the current and future requirements of the market:
